PTI finds to new ways to increase ad revenue

September 7, 2008

At least I’m hoping that’s their plan.  All this week on Pardon the Interruption, they have cut back to the studio (usually after the first commercial) for about five seconds or so.  We have learned that Tony’s never been on a cruise, that Wilbon frequently looks disinterested, yelling over to statboy about the best neighborhood in the five boroughs, and even seen some banter with the guest before the ‘Five Good Minutes’  segment.

I would guess that  most people catch the show as I do, by Tivoing and watching later- so if you aren’t paying attention as your fast forward, you might not have even noticed.

Each night, I’ve googled, read wikipedia, etcetera, looking for someone else who’s discussing this- only finding a Tivo Community post today that referenced it.

If you’ve missed it, it’s worth not going to three arrows on the fast forward- stick to two and you’ll catch it.

bring me my japanese cigarette case, put the mirror to my face, let all my memories be gone….

Just checked on the web- I guess it was pretty obvious to everyone.

It’s on gagagagaaggaggga, by Spoon.

Driving Albums (more lists I carried around)

August 21, 2008

I have a few lists that I’ve made on my Treo, and it was my aim to go back and add a comment in Itunes so that I could make smartlists to cull these out.  One problem I came up with was that I couldn’t define that a search variable would return the entire album (in order), which is a feature that a pre-Itunes window program had (what was the name of the nullriver program that worked with the Ipod before Apple launched Itunes for Windows?)
That is a feature that Itunes still lacks- you should be able to have a smartlist that looks for a variable, and then have the option to return a few complete albums (instead of songs) for that variable.  Define the results with the usual parameters- at random, last played or imported, etc.

Anyway, here’s the list- don’t read too much into it, as it was probably something I did in ten seconds one day.

driving albums
jayhawks tomorrow the green grass
tortoise tnt
new pornographers mass romantic
postal service give up
shins oh inverted world
big star radio city
spoon girls can tell
streets original pirate material
jay-z blueprint
james brown 20 all time greats
new order substance
clash london calling
notwist neon golden
